HP OMEN 17″ 2560×1440 Intel Core i9-13900HX RTX 4080 Laptop with 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD

The HP ENVY gaming laptop boasts a 17″ QHD (2560×1440) 3ms 165Hz IPS display, Intel Core i9-13900HX CPU featuring a Turbo Boosted clock speed of 5.4GHz with 24 cores and 32 threads, GeForce RTX 4080 12GB GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and 512GB SSD.

The Intel Core i9 Raptor Lake CPU has been tested at PCMag and it has shown to be an excellent chip that has taken the crown as the fastest mobile CPU you can get right now. It also pretty much dominates the previous generation Alder Lake CPU, which is impressive since it’s built on the same architecture.

The RTX 4080 mobile GPU performs about 20%-35% faster than the RTX 3080 Ti mobile. Compared to desktop variants, the mobile RTX 4080 approaches a performance level similar to the desktop RTX 3070 Ti. It’s definitely more than enough power to run games on the native 1440p display at near maximum settings depending on the title.

These GPUs are only worth it with higher resolution displays

Although there are some 1080p laptops available, we think an RTX 40 series card is wasted on such a low resolution. That’s because the current RTX 30 series cards can handle this resolution beautifully already. The sweet spot is QHD (or QHD+) because it’s still noticeably sharper than 1080p on a 16″-18″ display and isn’t as graphically demanding as native 4K. Even still, you’re going to appreciate the extra power that the RTX 40 series GPU offers to drive the higher resolution.

Mobile RTX 40 series GPUs also support DLSS 3.0

RTX 40 series cards also support DLSS 3.0, which is essentially DLSS 2.0 plus frame generation. For games that support it (like Cyberpunk) this is a massive FPS increase over even DLSS 2.0. It’s pretty much a necessity on ray-traced modern games.
