Jeon Jungkook has created history!
The BTS main vocalists’ digital solo debut, ‘Seven’ is currently sitting pretty, atop the Billboard Hot 100 song chart.
Jungkook is now the second BTS member to achieve this milestone after Jimin’s breezy synth-pop ‘Like Crazy’ made a splashing debut atop the BB 100 chart, this April.
‘Seven’ also marks rapper-singer Latto’s first Hot 100 1!
As per a Billboard report, Jungkook’s single amassed 21.9 million streams, 6.4 million in airplay audience, and 150K album sales (physical and digital). ‘Seven’ also grabbed the number two slot in the Digital Song Sales Chart and number four on the Streaming Songs chart.
Jungkook Obliterates The UK Charts
The BTS ‘Golden Maknae’ is proving that he has the Midas touch! The ‘Still With You’ hitmaker is currently number three on the Official UK Singles Chart. This is the highest charting debut for a Korean solo musical act.
‘Seven’ is a lighthearted pop song, that features Jungkook as a diehard romantic who is determined to get back in the good books of his estranged ex-girlfriend (played by South Korean actress Han So-Hee). The lyrics describe the various ways he would prove his love and devotion for her.
The music video begins with the duo having an argument while dining in an upscale restaurant. So-hee is seen snapping at Jungkook while the eatery catches fire.
The song has been penned by Andrew Watt, Cirkut, Jon Bellion, and Latto.
In the MV, the ‘Still With You’ hitmaker can be seen engaging in all sorts of elaborate feats such as hanging from the window of the train in which So-hee travels, serenading her as she does laundry and even posing as a corpse! The MV ends on a happy note, and the couple reconcile under the pouring rain.
The single has been described as an “invigorating summer song.”
