La Liga top goal scorers 2022/23: Updated Pichichi table for Golden Boot in Spain

La Liga top goal scorers 2022/23: Updated Pichichi table for Golden Boot in Spain

Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski (15 goals) has built up a healthy lead at the top of the La Liga scoring charts as he leads the chase by three goals over Enes Unal and Joselu, both of whom scored in their most recent outings.

But Lewandowski, who is looking to cap a successful first season in Spain with the Pichichi award, has not scored a goal in La Liga since Feb. 19.

The winner of the 2021/22 Golden Boot, Karim Benzema, is only four goals behind (11 goals) and still within reach. He did not appear in Real Madrid’s latest win over Espanyol, as his club continues to manage his minutes.

The other players on double-digit goals are Real Betis centre-forward Borja Iglesias in action at Villarreal, and Mallorca’s Vedat Muriqi who plays at home against Real Sociedad.

Below is the updated top scorers table in La Liga, as the stars vie for the prestigious Pichichi trophy at the end of the season. Assists and minutes played are the tiebreakers as is the case for major international tournaments.

La Liga odds to win Golden Boot

Who do the sportsbooks think is the frontrunner for the top scorer title in Spain? It’s understandable that Lewandowski is way ahead of the pack, but he has company at the top the list.

Most sportsbooks have Benzema in second place behind Lewandowski with the Polish hitman scoring at least 30 league goals in five of the last seven Bundesliga seasons at Bayern Munich.

La Liga Pichichi Trophy 2021/22

While Karim Benzema may have competition for the top of the table this coming season, nobody can take away his incredible 2021/22 campaign.

The season to remember likely pushed the Frenchman towards his first-ever Ballon d’Or, finishing with nine more goals than anyone else and also collecting one fewer assist than the league leader. Ironically, the season’s assist leader Vinicius Jr. led the way largely thanks to Benzema, who was on the receiving end of eight of Vinicius’s 13 assists.
