March 01, (THEWILL) – Juventus have taken action against the 15-point penalty that was imposed on them by the Italian Football Federation (Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio, FIGC) Court of Appeal in January.
The Serie A giants have now lodged an appeal with the Italian National Olympic Committee (Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano, CONI) after receiving the point penalty last month. The Turin-based club had been cleared of allegations in April 2022 but new evidence came to light with a criminal investigation.
This led to a new trial of the FIC Court of Appeal, which resulted in the point penalty. Juventus were docked 15 points for the current season in January in a second sporting trial that looked into artificially inflated transfer values.
With their appeal now lodged, Massimiliano Allegri’s side will hope for a successful outcome as they sit three points below a Conference League placement in Serie A. Juventus will host Torino at the Allianz Stadium on Tuesday night, in the final match of Serie A Round 24.
