Harmony move to Tier II Group D top with win

Harmony Sports Club moved to the top of Group D in the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) Tier II playoffs after a 1-0 win over Reggae Youths at Bounty Hall Community Centre on Saturday.

Robert Seivwright scored the game’s only goal after 76 minutes to put Harmony atop the group with maximum six points.

Meanwhile, Tuscany Warriors stayed second in the group with four points after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Sandy Bay at Llandilo Sports Complex.

Ricardo Winter opened the scoring in the 44th minute for the Warriors, but Renaldo Nelson’s added-time goal salvaged the point for Sandy Bay.

In Group C, Donald Powell scored the lone goal in the 77th minute at the Toll Gate Community Centre, as hosts Toll Gate denied Goshen successive wins. Both share the lead in the group with three points each. Los Perfectos are yet to get off the mark after one match.

In the two-team Group A, Racing United defeated Seaforth 1-0 at York Oval, courtesy of Nickyle Ellis’ sixth-minute strike, to take the advantage in the group after one match.

The Group B game between Brown’s Town and Ujama at Drax Hall ended 0-0, leaving both teams tied on two points, the same as leaders Grays Inn.

The competition continues tomorrow with games in four of the five groups.

In Group C, Goshen, who defeated Los Perfectos in their opening match, will go for win No 2, against Toll Gate at Goshen Community Centre.

Over in Group B, Ujama and Brown’s Town, who both have one point from one game, could surpass group leaders Grays Inn, who have two points and will be idle.

In the two-team Group A matchup, Seaforth play Racing United at York Oval.
