Chelsea fans fume at line-up for Real Madrid clash – 101 Great Goals

The pair are facing off for a spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they will likely take on Manchester City. The winner of that match is expected to go on and win the competition due to the weak nature of the other side of the draw.

Chelsea head into the match at a major disadvantage, however, as they lost the first leg 2-0.

Marcon Asensio and Karim Benzema netted the goals, whilst Ben Chilwell was sent off and is now suspended.

The Blues have also been in dismal form domestically and are not expected to have any European football next term.

As a result, another win for Real Madrid was been tipped on Tuesday.

Ahead of the game, Chelsea released their line-up an hour or so before kick-off and it is fair to say fans are not happy.

Frank Lampard has gone with a back-five, as well as three central midfielders. This leaves Kai Havertz and Conor Gallaher as the only players to provide any sort of attacking threat.

Considering Chelsea would need to score three to go through, it is clear Frank Lampard knows it is an impossible task and is simply playing for damage limitation.

This has not gone down well with Blues fans, though, with just some of the reaction shown below:

Only one attacker when we need to score two goals?

So the best chance of providing a threat is via Gallagher and Havertz where we need to score 3 goals.

This will be another match that will be a pain to watch

Connor and Kai up front. I might turn my car around now. Totally pointless
