A seasoned educator with years of expertise in mathematics, Mr. LLontop presently excels as an adjunct faculty member with Middlesex Community College, where he teaches algebra and pre-calculus in-person and remotely. Alongside his work with the college, he is a team leader and certified mathematics teacher for New London Adult & Continuing Education, through which he teaches at-risk students in preparation for their mathematics GED examination and collaborates with the math department chair to create additional courses that are aligned with career-readiness standards. Likewise, Mr. LLontop fulfills similar roles at Connecticut State Community College.
During the early stages of his career, Mr. LLontop gained valuable expertise in mathematics and education through varying roles with Lyman Memorial High School, Lebanon Middle School, USI Consulting Group, Towers Perrin, CIGNA Healthcare, and Mass Mutual. In conjunction with his work, he contributes to his community by donating to St. Jude’s Hospital and volunteering at his local church. An expert in his field, Mr. LLontop earned a Bachelor of Arts in actuarial science and Spanish from the University of Connecticut, as well as a Master of Arts in secondary mathematics education from Sacred Heart University. Over the years, Mr. LLontop expanded upon his professional knowledge, earning through the CTC/US Department of State.
In light of his outstanding body of work, Mr. LLontop won the K-12 Educator of the Year through the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) in 2022. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in helping students from ages 18 through 60 obtain their high school diplomas. The cornerstone of his success lay with his parents, who are and have been his role models. Looking ahead, Mr. LLontop aims to become a school administrator or a curriculum director.
