On Tuesday night, Blue Jays top prospect Orelvis Martinez made his Triple-A debut with the Buffalo Bisons and it didn’t take long for him to make an impact, homering in his second at-bat.

The 364-foot blast had an exit velocity of 97.3mph. It was Martinez’s only hit on the night as he finished 1-for-5.

The 21-year-old third baseman was recently named the 67th best prospect according to Baseball America.

Before getting promoted to Triple-A Buffalo, Martinez was slashing .226/.339/.485 at Double-A New Hampshire with 17 homers and 46 RBI.

However, over his last 30 games, Martinez slashed .293/.410/.485 improving his strikeout and walk numbers, leading to his promotion.
